2017 -- Life of a Bise

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here is the recap of the 2017 Life of a Bise

2017 began as the year of the FLOOD. We got about 5 feet of snow and in February, the thaw came so fast that the water was uncontrollable.  First our fields flooded, then a mighty river came down the mountain behind us, flooding the barn, washing out part of our driveway, eventually flooding the road in front of our house.  Melting continued, coupled with more and more rain and soon Newman Lake completely covered both sides of Starr Road.

About this same time, Dallin proposed to his girlfriend Cristal in January and they got married in March.  The wedding took place at the Provo City Center temple and it was perfect!

We returned home from the wedding and had to make some big decisions.  Due to the flooding and the mess our property had become, Troy was pretty frustrated and considered moving.  He began looking for jobs out of Washington, but eventually felt prompted to remain where we were and take a job back at LexMark.  Two days later, he was called to be the Bishop of our local LDS congregation (Newman Lake Ward).  We quickly left on a 5 day trip to CancĂșn.

We returned to the end of Senior year with Cadie and Charli.

Summer brought lots of boating, visits from Robbie, Kate and Finn and Adam & family and Kayleen.  Kayleen lived with us for 4 months.

Girl's Camp!

Camping on Kalispel Island on Lake Pend O'Reille (notice the smokey skies!)

Senior Backpacking trip to Lake Stevens in Wallace with Taryn.

Brenna feeds the pigs.  We brought Delaney and Brenna home to spend a week before their parents came up.

Cadie participates in two Sprint Triathlon's.  This one is the CDA tri.

Adam and Kellena, Jace and Kruse come to get their sisters.

A few days later, Grandpa Bob and Grandma Lois arrive.  They are moving here from Tennessee and we were blessed to have them in our home for a month while they searched for a place to live.

The great 2017 Eclipse!

Cami's 12th birthday!

Cadie left for China to teach English to 1st graders, Charli left for BYU-I, Kayleen ran Cross Country and Cami outgrew Charli by an inch.

Cami is please to be a little bit taller than Charli.
